Tell me what you think
Larry, Rob and I are always trying to find ways to improve the event for next year. I'm asking for your help. I've got three questions to ask you:
What did you think of this year's event?
What else would you add to make the event better?
What did you think needs to be changed?
All comments are appreciated, both good and bad. Anonymous comments can be left, if you'd like.
Thanks for your help, and we hope to see you next year!!!!
Tim

Tim, Thanks to you, Rob, Larry and all the volunteers for putting on this year's event.
I agree with airman about not changing turn in times after cooks meeting as even 1/2 hour change can make a difference.
Also the earlier turn-in times for Meats was better as not as hot during cook time and also gave time for tear-down prior to dark minus rain storm....
Some possible suggestions for next year:
1) Make aa sanctioned event with backyard still involved.
2) More Publicity for Locals to come & see. Possibly several cook Teams w/trailer rigs to be in local 4th parades with up-in-smoke banners w/dates on rigs.
3) Turn-In closer for Teams.
4) Live Bands during public & after hours cook Team party.
5) Get County/City to allow special event permit for Bud to sell beer.
Thanks again to everyone that helped out & lets keep this ball rollin....
Thanks for the great event once again.
Some suggestions:
1) Too much confusion on where to buy tickets for the Friday night event, make sure tickets are sold at the gate for the rib cook-off event. This would help tremendously!
2) More publicity- A lot of our community had no idea this event was taking place again this year. If it wasn't for the Times-Herald, mum would be the word on the event.
3) BBQ Pork or Rib eating contest next year- Have a local restaurant(s) sponsor the event-
3) This event should be held in late Spring or Early Fall. WAY TOO HOT in July for this event- It's good for the drink vendors but bad for cooking teams and the public- I think it keeps people away!
Thanks again Rob, Larry, and Tim for a great event.
First of all thanks goes out to Larry,Rob and Tim for a fine job. I would also like to thank all the other people who helped put this event together.
I think if we are going to have this in July maybe a large shade tent could be put up. We can't expect the little ones and the older ones to stay in that sun for very long.
I would also like to see the cook teams get a few more arm bands.
Like the others have said we need to get the word out about this event.
My husband and I participated the first year as a cook team but this year we just came to hang out. We had a great time when we participated but it was just way to hot, that is the moajor reason we did not participate this year. It was still hot this year. The biggest suggestion we could make is to have this event during the spring or fall, when the weather is cooler. As we were leaving on Saturday there were several others leaving as well due to being so hot and uncomfortable. Having young children it is hard to keep them out in heat like we have in July. We hope to participate next year.
Excellent and generous servings by all participants. Hot, but what is expected in July? Shade for the young and old would be nice.
Major suggestion: since lots of drinks were consumed from containers which could have been recycled, how about recycle containers for plastic bottles and aluminum cans.
A great event. Looking forward to next year. Needs more publicity, many locals were not aware of the event. Need more than ads in local paper. Banners? Something on local TV channel? It was such a good outing, I believe attendees would be more numerous if it were better known.
